In a typical scrum environment, the product owner prioritizes the user stories based on the business values of these stories and the scrum team provides the relative complexity "story points". The problem with this traditional approach is that the story points are not factored in when prioritizing the backlog. To maximize the business value produced by the scrum team, we need to prioritize the product backlog based on an ROI formula.
