In our projects, as well as in our other endeavors, we are constantly faced with the difficult task of making decisions. Unfortunately for us humans, we are not perfect: Various cognitive limitations and biases distort the way we see, understand, plan or act. In this session, some of the most common cognitive biases are discussed and applied in the project management context as described in “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).”

Learning Objective:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: Explain how to evaluate a given situation objectively, with as little cognitive bias as possible.
