This session is based on the team development approach and assessment tools used at NASA and defines the possibilities of a more project-specific model of team development. NASA research determined the characteristics associated with superior project teams and identified specific functions that are associated with leaders of successful project teams. It will also introduce some new team tools currently being used to develop superior teams.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: (1) Describe the characteristics of superior project teams and recognize what NASA knows about teamwork. (2) Explain why and how NASA goes about assessing teams.
